HunrenTech Ltd. is the technology transfer company of the HUN-REN Hungarian Research Network. Our mission is to help researchers’ scientific results reach practical application. Our operations are built on a competency-based model, involving market professionals to support researchers in business training, intellectual property management, development resource allocation, enterprise management, innovation management, and business development.

Our ambition is not merely to be a technology transfer service provider, but to play an active role in the cultural shift that ensures HUN-REN’s scientific results become marketable and socially valuable as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Dr. Attila Erdős, Chief Executive Officer

He graduated from the Faculty of General Medicine at the Albert Szent-Györgyi Medical University (now University of Szeged – SZTE) and subsequently worked at the university’s Institute of Pathology. He earned an MBA in France at the Institut Européen d’Administration des Affaires (INSEAD). Following this, he worked for the pharmaceutical company SmithKline Beecham (now GlaxoSmithKline) in the Baltics, the United Kingdom (London), and several other European countries. After returning to Hungary, he led the Central and Southeastern European office of GE Medical Systems (now GE Healthcare).

After his multinational career, he focused primarily on biotechnology startups and spin-off companies. Under his leadership, GenoID Molecular Biology Laboratory received the Frost & Sullivan Product Innovation Award and became one of Europe’s largest molecular biology laboratories, later acquired by Europe’s largest laboratory network.

Dr. Erdős also launched the healthcare economics program at SZTE, which evolved into the current Department of Health Economics, where he continues to lecture.

He has authored dozens of articles, primarily on healthcare-related topics. In 2006, he was even nominated for Minister of Health. He has also written popular science books, the most notable of which is Felvágós könyv, now in its third edition.
